Companies are experiencing increased costs and performance issues due to large data volumes in Business Central Cloud.

All tables and data - without exception - must be exportable and deletable in accordance with applicable accounting legislation. When data is exported and deleted from the operational database, it must be stored in an Azure Blob Storage container, ensuring that data and any attachments remain accessible.

To meet compliance and traceability requirements, links between, for example, invoices and associated files must be retained in the export - the relationship must not be broken, even if data and files are stored separately in Blob Storage. Data is displayed and searchable in a web application, where users can search for and view data in a way that resembles Business Central.

Usage Scenario

Free up database space and improve performance in Business Central with BC Archive. We identify the tables in Business Central that take up the most space and select them in BC Archive Management.

The data is then securely exported to BC Archive and deleted from Business Central, reducing the database size and allowing the solution to run more efficiently. The archived data remains easily accessible to selected users via the BC Archive web application — without impacting the daily operation of Business Central.

FAQ

What is BC Archive Management?

BC Archive Management is a solution that helps companies export, archive, and access Business Central data outside the operational database.

Why should companies use BC Archive Management?

It helps reduce the amount of data stored in Business Central, which can improve performance and support more cost-efficient operations.

Where is the archived data stored?

Archived data is stored in an Azure Blob Storage container, where both data and related attachments can remain accessible.

Can users still access archived data?

Yes. Selected users can access and search archived data through the BC Archive web application in a Business Central-like interface.

Can BC Archive Management help if Business Central is unavailable?

Yes. Critical tables can be exported regularly to a separate environment, helping ensure access to important data if Business Central SaaS is temporarily unavailable.
